Biathlon Canada Welcomes Tyson Wellock as Director of Development and High Performance

Biathlon Canada is thrilled to announce that Tyson Wellock has accepted the position of Director of Development and High Performance (DDHP).

Wellock, who resides in Chelsea, QC, recently completed his Masters of High Performance Coaching and Technical Leadership at UBC and is currently pursuing a Sport Analytics Certificate through the University of Michigan.

Tyson’s time in sport has been spent both in the pool and on the pool deck as a swimming athlete, coach, and club administrator. He has 20 years of coaching experience and has been successful in developing international level athletes for Team USA. Additionally, as an administrator, Tyson has played a leading role in securing funding for and building successful, sustainable development systems.

He has an ambitious vision for our future, is always learning, and is athlete-centred,” commented Heather Ambery, General Manager. “We will lean on Tyson's valuable experience and leadership style to continue to build momentum for Biathlon Canada’s future.”

Tyson will work remotely, starting July 4, based in Chelsea, QC where he enjoys skiing in the Gatineau Hills with his partner and two dogs.
