National “at home” Challenge

National “at home” Challenge

Biathlon Canada will host a National “At Home” Challenge, to shift our mindset towards “Improving our craft”. These challenges will focus on improving both skiing and shooting technical skills. Races will come back but for the time being we can still make great progress in our abilities, so when the races do come back, we are at a higher level.

These challenges (and other data points) will be used to help with discretionary selections for ALL 2020-2021 National Development Training Teams (Sr Development, u24 and u20). Those interested in being considered for a National Development Team are strongly encouraged to participate. However, if you are unable to participate due to Covid restrictions you can still be considered.

Eligibility for participation: 2006 YOB and older. Please note only athletes 2005 YOB or older are eligible for team selection.

Challenges:

1) Skiing Skills National Challenge

Goal: To improve one skate technique and become familiar with the key performance indicators (KPI’s)

2) Shooting Skills National Challenge

Goal: To improve our shooting skills through improving our National Team Test abilities
