Coaches, apply now: World Cup #7 International/National (ICE, NiCE) and hired positions Coach Experience Camp
Biathlon Canada will host a World Cup #7 International/National Coach Experience Camp during the Canmore Biathlon World Cup #7 week, February 5-11, 2019. The camp will be led by Jacqueline Akerman, Athlete and Coach Development Manager and Roddy Ward, Director of Long Term Athlete Development and 2018 Olympic Coach.
Coaches will join athletes taking part in the Athlete Experience Camp for several presentations and will play a role in supervision of athletes. Presentations will be delivered by specialists (Nutrition, Sport Psych, Technique, and Strength) who work with our Senior National Team athletes.
Coaches will gain exposure to World Cup racing, assist with coaching the Athlete Camp, who will be participating in a TV test race, fore-running for the World Cup, and training on the World Cup course. You will have an opportunity to volunteer for the World Cup, watch the races, meet and chat with members of Canada’s World Cup Team, and network with other coaches. Come learn, expand your skill set, and be immersed in the latest and greatest coaching practices for Biathlon.
This is an International Coaching Experience and National (ICE/NiCE) experience camp and therefore coaches’ costs in Canmore will be covered and travel subsidies will be issued. Coaches are not paid a wage.
Biathlon Canada will hire (all costs paid and wages issued) two coaches to help lead/coach the athlete’s experience camp for the duration of the week. Minimum Biathlon Competition Introduction certified status, please indicate in your application if you are applying for this hired position.
