A team of 16 athletes, two alternates, and four coaches have been named to Biathlon Canada’s Youth/Junior World Championship team. The competition is being held in Osrblie, Slovakia and the team will depart Canada on January 21 and take part in the competition from January 26 to February 3.
During the competition at Valcartier Garrison on January 3, 5, and 6, Biathlon Canada will be hosting trials for positions at Junior and Youth World Championships and Junior IBU Tour 2. NorAm 4 (January 5 and 6 only) will also be a potential qualifier for IBU Tour 3 (with NorAm 5 - please find more details in the NTP). The purpose of this brief is to outline some very important information around the selection process as well as timelines for selection.
Biathlon Canada is extending the deadline for FISU team applications to 12pm EST, December 30th, 2018, in order to fill the remaining 7 places (2women, 5men). We will review the applications and offer positions as they come in until positions are filled or the deadline is reached.
Biathlon Canada will nominate a maximum of two (2) candidates to be considered to take the IBU TD Exam. Of all nominated candidates, the IBU will select 8-10 individuals who will write the exam. Successful applicants will be informed in late January and the exam will take place in early May 2019. The application form below must be completed and submitted by 11:59 PM EST on Wednesday, December 19, 2018.

Biathlon Canada will host a World Cup #7 International/National Coach Experience Camp during the Canmore Biathlon World Cup #7 week, February 5-11, 2019. Applications must be submitted by December 18, 2018.
